Theme of the day: EGGS

I had some left over onions and tomatoes from my last curry and I was trying to think what I could make. IQ and Invisible Smoke suggested I make an Omlette. I did not actual eggs and I was too lazy to go out again [plus it was raining]. So I ended up making it with egg beaters.

I almost cut my thumb while cutting the onions, threw the first omlette in the trash :P. I was kinda disappointed by the look but it actually tasted pretty good.

I had some more eggs and onions and tomatoes left over; so I made Egg Kheema. This was actually delicious [i am not boasting :P]. You were supposed to make it with actual eggs but egg beaters is all I had LOL.

Surprise

A little background :P I hate cooking. In my 27 years of existence, I can count by my hand [k may be toes too] the number of times I turned on the stove. It might be even more shocking if I tell you that  I have lived alone for the last 6 years. I have no idea how I survive but I do LOL.

After my birthday this year I decided that I should at least try this whole cooking thing :P It took me almost a month and a very depressing me to finally start :P I had to get my mind to stop thinking about things and be depressed and decided hey why not!

This is dedicated to IQ since she had attempted to motivate me to cook for 8 years :P.. Cauliflower and tomato curry!

Rant...

Do you feel like some people act as if you are just as not as cool as them? They act like their life takes precedence over yours because you are just a mere mortal over their awesome life?  I have had an unfortunate experience with someone like that in my life. I always knew she considered me to be less than her and yet I  was being a nice friend by ignoring that aspect. Perhaps that was  stupid of me? This person is now getting married and has given me a not pleasant experience with a bridezilla. Now, thanks to this person, I can tell you about my experiences with a bridezilla.

How do you spot a bridezilla?

  •  All they want to talk about is THEIR wedding. Your life does not matter. Your life stops for them because you need to be caring about their wedding.
  • They will text you at 8 in the morning when you are getting ready for work saying that it is an emergency and to call. You call them immediately and they want to talk about how stressful it is to keep the wedding budget at 200k
  • They will not ask you ONCE  about how you are doing. Any communication with you will be about their wedding.
  • It won't be enough that you congratulate  by text even if you are going through a break up and near death in your family.
  • When they tell you that they are upset that you were not excited when they get proposed and you tell them the reasons mentioned above, they start talking about how their life has been crazy planning the wedding.
  • They text you at 4 in the morning to ask you for address to mail wedding invitation.
  • They text you a week later without having any conversation and ask you if you are coming to the wedding.
These experiences gave me a rude awakening. I might not be cool in her eyes or my life might not be important in her eyes. It is my life and it is important to me. There are people in my life who make me believe that my life IS important.

Another thing to add to the "the crazy things I do" list

I have a natural tendency to get myself into crazy things. When I was living with my grandparents, the school was out early. I figured my grandparents would not find out so I should go out on the town. Well I was probably like 9, so going out of town was playing at friends house. My grandparents found out school was out early and I didn't come home. they thought I was kidnapped and launched a city wide search and my uncle was on his way to file a police complaint. Eventually they found out I was playing at a friends house. I got home and I could see the tension and stress in everyone's face and yet I was mad that they found out.

I could write a book of all these little stories- I was the terror of my dads eyes. Thankfully for his blood pressure's sake, I slowed down as I got older. But I cannot ignore the natural tendency I have, so every once in a while I do crazy stuff.

I was going out of town for the weekend and booked an early morning flight for 5:40 a.m. The airport is an hour away and I need to be there an hour before. So, I put my alarm for 2:45 a.m and took my time packing and went to bed at 12:00 a.m. I was super confident in my ability to get up at 2:45 because I set up three alarms in 5 minute increments. I dozed off to my dream land and was dreaming about work [topic for another day] and some random stuff. I remember my sleepy self waking up for the first alarm and turning off the other two alarms [brilliant move, I know] and closed my eyes thinking I will wake up in 5 minutes.

I wish I had superpowers but in my sleep I actually think I have superpowers. A superpower to wake up in 5 minutes. Ofcourse I don't have any superpowers and the phone rings at 5 a.m. My mom asks if I am at the airport and I scream in panic- "it's 5 and I am still home!!"

I jump off my bed get to the airport. It's the holiday weekend and the agent tells me that there are no other flight available. I break out the water works [one of my favorite things about being a girl] and the agent magically gets me a seat!! I call my panicked parents and tell them that I get a seat. They were happy and didn't really seemed shocked that this happened. I could imagine all the parents giving a lecture but mine were like it happens! May be because all my craziness has made them immune to panic!!

Now that I am on the plane, I smile when I think about what happened. It was stressful for those few hours but now I have a memory to look back to. Another memory to add to my craziness. What's the fun in life if we play eveything safe- get home everytime school ends early or never miss a flight? When we are old and telling stories to our grand kids- we will remember these events, not those where everything happened the way it was supposed to.

First..

I been thinking of a starting a blog for quite a while but it finally happened out the blue after reading the blog of my friend IQ. I was trying to think of a good topic to start my blog- three days of thinking and I got no where. So, my first blog will be about starting my first blog :) When i tried to start the blog, I came across some draft blogs- things I had written for myself three years ago. I could tell that I have changed so much as a person since those three years. I have changed so much that I could go back in time and tell my old self to cut it out :P. Yet, sometimes I feel like I am no different than that person. But I always wish I had things written down somewhere, where i could look back one day and remember those thoughts, live through these feelings again. So, here's to jotting down my thoughts and may be three years down the road, I will look back at this and reminisce about my old self :)
